EV Charging in Baguio: The 2026 Driver's Guide
AddaVolt Blog · October 2026 · Driver Guides
Baguio is quietly becoming one of the best cities in the Philippines to own an EV. The climate is kind to batteries. The city is compact, so daily driving barely dents a charge. And the Manila-Baguio run, long the test of nerve for new EV owners, now fits comfortably inside the range of most current models.
What has been missing is the answer to one simple question: when you get here, where do you plug in?
We built AddaVolt in Baguio to answer it. This guide covers where to charge, how it works, and what to expect on your first session.
Where to charge in Baguio
Our first city-center site is live at New Town Plaza Hotel on Upper Bonifacio Street: Type 2 connectors, AC charging up to 22 kW, open to hotel guests and visiting drivers alike. Park in the charging bay, plug in, and get on with your day.
Every AddaVolt site appears on Google Maps - search "AddaVolt" or "EV charging" and the nearest bay shows up with directions - and inside the AddaVolt app, which shows live availability. More Baguio sites are on the way, and this guide is updated at every launch, so bookmark it.
How charging works: five steps, two minutes
1. Download the AddaVolt app - App Store or Google Play.
2. Load your wallet - top up in the app before your trip or at the site; you pay only for what you use.
3. Scan - the QR code on the charger screen activates your session.
4. Plug in - the Type 2 cable clicks into your charge port; charging stops automatically when your battery is full or you unplug.
5. Unplug and go - return the plug to its holster for the next driver.
Regular drivers load their wallet before the trip, so arrival is just park, scan, plug.
What "AC up to 22 kW" actually means for you
Our city chargers are destination chargers, and the name is the idea. You do not drive somewhere to wait for your car. You charge where you were already going.
In practice: a dinner in the city center puts meaningful range back in the battery. A half-day of errands does more. An overnight hotel stay returns the car full, every time. For the way people actually use Baguio - check in, walk Session Road, eat, sleep - the charger works your whole visit while you never think about it.
Common questions
Do I need to be a hotel guest to charge at New Town Plaza Hotel? No - the bays are open to any EV driver using the AddaVolt app.
What does it cost? Pay-per-use, charged from your in-app wallet at the rate shown in the app before you start. No subscription, no membership fee.
What if the bay is occupied? The app shows availability before you drive over. Baguio courtesy applies: when you are done, unplug and free the bay.
Can plug-in hybrids use it? Yes - any vehicle with a Type 2 charging port.
Is it safe in the rain? The connectors and units are built for outdoor operation and every session runs through the unit's built-in safety systems. Follow the posted site guide and you are fine.

Every AddaVolt site exists because a Baguio business decided its parking could do more. If you own a hotel, restaurant, clinic, or shop with parking, the next site in this guide could be yours - message us at hello@addavolt.com and ask how hosting works.
